Bamboo and Charlie Robison

Granger Deluxe and Sage

Granger and Red-Ass

always wanted to fish a bamboo fly rod!  My Grandfather's ended up somewhere else, so when I ran across this Granger Deluxe, the decision to buy it was easy. Of course paying for it was another matter! The rig was completed with a Hardy Marquis number 6 reel. Putting a new reel on it didn't seem the right thing to do.  Besides you can't really beat the noise of a fish taking line from it. The click always reminds me of the part in the Jaws movie when Quint is staring at his reel the first time the shark is on his line. Click, click, click. It took a while to get used to the extra weight, but my casting was much more accurate. When a trout was hooked it really was fun then!  Saturday night we hit the Rev-Room in Little Rock to see Charlie Robison. We had read a couple of reviews earlier this year that didn't think too highly of his shows. Our opinion is much different.  If you are looking for the glossy pop crap that comes out of Nashville, you probably would not like him. He gives you first class Texas music that stands on its on. The show was a rock n roll show with a singer-songwriter bent to it and he was really enjoying himself it appeared. Give his music a listen. There is alot of great varity in his songs that tell some great stories of the rough and tumble life of a full time Bandera Texas troubador.
